The daffodils are emerging. Here at Bodnant Garden in North Wales they put on a spectacular display in the Old Park Meadow…

Later in the summer the meadow looks like this…

The National Trust own this fabulous garden and are managing a lot of it for wild flowers, pollinating insects, birds and mammals, which is great because 98% of these old hay meadows have been lost from the Welsh countryside in the last 50 years because of agricultural intensification…

A landscape full of daffodils is always such a cheerful sight. How amazing that your winter was frost-free. I always look forward to our frosty days because it means a beautiful blue sky and winter sunshine later in the day.
Yes we’ve had the warmest winter ever probably, but also the stormiest. The times are a changin’…
I just found out about these Water Buffalo the other day. Are they still about and doing good work for conservation?
Here in Austria is basically spring, too! We had one of the warmest winters ever in history. I didn’t miss the snow!
I’ve never known such a warm (but violently windy) winter Elke, not even a frost.
Beautiful! They will soon be here too!
Thanks Leya, I hope yours put in an appearance soon 🙂
Ah, that seems so far away for us. Nice to get a glorious glimpse, though.
May your flowers and buds appear very soon Karen 🙂

All the best,
Hanna
Thank you Hanna it is my pleasure 🙂
Ours are still under the snow. Maybe soon???? These are beautiful.
Thanks Anneli, we have had no snow, not even a frost this winter, which is unheard of, and as a result the flowers and buds have decided to go for it. Hope yours do too soon 🙂
You’ll probably get a lot of insects this summer since they didn’t die off over the winter, but the birds will be happy about that.
I’m sure you’re right, we shall see how it unfolds, our climate has become very unpredicatable
So beautiful, Mike!
Bodnant Garden is definitely a place I want to visit when I gat back on the Isles…
Much love,
Steffi
You will have a lovely day there when you do Steffi x
Oh, quelles splendeurs …. merci Mike pour ce généreux partage ! Bonne journée 😉
Merci Julie, je suis heureux que vous ayez aimé avoir une belle journée 🙂
Beautiful photos… Can see myself in those gardens, holding hand of person I love and thinking about nothing…away from job stress, away from all others problems we are all surrounded by. This is what Dubai (we live in Dubai) really missing…
The gardens certainly are lovely but hey, in Dubai you’re not missing the sunshine which I certainly am in cold, wet, grey Wales 🙂
That’s truth 🙂 we always miss something 😀
Too true 🙂
